  • Mondeo Rattle 27 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Hi, i own a Ford Mondeo Mk2 1.8 Zetec (38k miles). Recently, the car has started to develop an annoying rattling noise around 2000 revs. I've located the noise to the engine bay. I know i'm been a bit vague here but just wondered if anyone else has had such problem as i'm not so hot
  • Diesel and Automatic - ideas? 9 Mar 2004 (Forum)
My Dad's looking for a newer car to replace his ageing Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6. He's got around 10k to spend, and needs an automatic. He'd also like a diesel if possible, as nearly all his journeys are long motorway ones, and economy is important. It also needs to be capable of towing a 2 berth
  • Correct Spark plug fiesta 1.25? 7 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Just done the 40,000 miles plug change my '97 model. I have removed some OEM motorcraft AYRF22P Platinum and replaced with some AYFS22C supplied by a ford dealer as being correct for a fiesta 1.25. The oweners manual specifies AYRF22P. As they are different to the OEM ones I wonder if anyone
  • Mondeo spare parts 5 Mar 2004 (Forum)
I was involved in in an RTA back in December that triggered the passenger airbag on my 03 reg Mondeo. The bodywork damage was quickly repaired, but I am still waiting for relacement airbag. At first I was told it was 5 to 10 working days to get the bits from Ford. 6 weeks later I am told
  • Keys lost = New locks - how much? 13 Jan 2004 (Forum)
My sister has managed to misplace her car keys for her 1999 Ford Fiesta 3dr. Unfortunately, when we purchased the car we were not supplied with a 2nd set of keys so it looks like the locks will have to be changed or is there another way round it? If not, how much do you think it will cost
  • Which Mondeo? 20 Oct 2003 (Forum)
I'm up to buy a new Mondeo diesel. I'll be doing 30k miles per year, mostly motorway, and I'm debating either the 115bhp or 130bhp dci unit is best. Ford are currently offering 2.5k off the 2003 model year Ghia, in effect old shape, plus any dealer discount. Has anyone got any advice on which
  • Cavalier ecotec 6 Oct 2003 (Forum)
? Or was it very troublesome and they decided to replace it ? Reason for the silly question , I have been thinking on selling it and buying something totally different , maybe a Ford escort ? Not to sure to be honest . Anyone give me any advice ?
  • Removing the battery from a modern car? 31 Jul 2003 (Forum)
of time ? I`ve been "told " , that on Fords , the engine management system "recalibrates" itself over the next 10 miles. Is this true and if so , how does it do that ? Thanks
  • Increasingly coarse Zetec 1.25 30 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed the Ford 1.25 Zetec engine getting progressively coarse as time goes on. Mine is still fairly new being a 2001 model with only some 14k miles. Regularly serviced (just had its second one last week). Thing is, remember it being much sweeter initailly
  • Focus Service 29 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Hi all, Just got hold of a 00\' focus which has done 63k. I was just wondering whether I should go for a major service or just a normal service? Can you guys tell me whats done on both services before Ford try to rip me off saying go for the 170 quid service or your car will fall to bits
  • Focus under water 9 Jun 2003 (Forum)
I have been looking for a Focus hatchback and went to view one at a local Ford dealer. The carpet on the front passenger side was a little wet. Salesman said "it is coming from the pollen filter, it has not been put back correctly after it was checked" Is this b.....it or an example of the standard
  • Fiesta Cambelt 26 Apr 2003 (Forum)
this (whatever it's called) a specialist Ford job or can I expect my local backstreet garage to be able to do a competent (and more than likely, cheaper) job of it? The car is a 1998 Fiesta LX 1.25 with a Zetec engine.
  • EU Import Insurance 25 Mar 2003 (Forum)
. Is this fair that an identical car: Same factory, same spec is charged differently because it was first sold in a foreign country. What about Jersey registered Fords: are these imports?
  • Mondeo Import spec 4 Mar 2003 (Forum)
would the quality of the Trade Sales one be - is it the same as the Ford dealer one? Is it vitally important to have an alarm - the car already has an immobiliser? Would it be better to book it in at a dealer to get this done? Splodgeface
  • Fiesta Rattle. 4 Feb 2003 (Forum)
? Incidently, the major service cost £89.95. at Ford Rapid Fit. If it had been booked in at the dealer service desk (same premises) the same service would have cost £159.95.

on all kinds of factors, but a guideline would be helpful please). And...by dealer I mean...anything frm a small indie to a Ford dealer.
  • 2 litre Focus cambelt 11 Jan 2003 (Forum)
I've just enquired at my local Ford dealer about renewing the cambelt on my 2 litre ("black top" petrol engine) Focus which has done 63k miles. I was told by their Service Advisor that the recommended interval is 100k miles or 10 years. I don't know whether I have the nerve to let it go that long
  • '96 Ranger Sputters at 50 Degrees 30 Dec 2002 (Forum)
I have a Ford Ranger 1996 XLT that has begun to sputter only in 1st gear, usually while rounding a corner from a stop. It doesn't do this unless it's above about 50 Degrees outside. It is not every time, but about once every 5 or 6 times from a stop. It did this once and blew a fuse

  • New Mondeo Headlamp adjustment for the c 15 Jul 2002 (Forum)
I know that I can mask the headlamps (got a template mailed out from Ford Tech Support), but can't I just use the L/R adjustment to give the same throw as a continental car? If the lamp units are the same as those on the continent, lateral adjustment should do it, shouldn't it? Of course
