  Apologies if this has been asked before but cars today and from many years back all seem to have some type of insulation jacket on their 12v batteries under the bonnet. Why is this ? Is it to keep it warm, insulate it from the engine bay heat or a bit of both and just maintain it at a constant temp

  Hi Both my peugeot 306 appear to have the same fault, after 5 years the keyfobs are eating batteries i change them for new batteries and all works ok for two weeks when the batteries are flat again any ideas a replacement from peugeot is £94 silly price

  Assuming a 'modern' car - a few years old, how long (or how many miles) does it take to charge the battery after you've started the car? Lets assume the car is in good condition, and it takes no more than 1 to 2 seconds for the engine to 'catch' after turning the key.
