I was wondering if anyone could help with the following problem I have with my Rover 216 GSi. I am trying to attach a new battery, but when I do this, the car\'s alarm is set off. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?

Once connected have you tried pressing the unlock button on the remote control a few times.That normaly resets the alarm?
|
I don't have a remote....! It normally sets itself when I lock the car and unsets itself when its unlocked.
Should I ensure that all the doors are unlocked before I attach the battery?
|
Surely the owners handbook/manual should provide the correct information for resetting the alarm after changing a battery?
Most alarms will trigger if the battery is disturbed in any way. Have you tried turning the key in the ignition after the alarm has gone off?
{ps, I'll move this question over to Technical Matters later today. DD}
