  • Seicento update 19 May 2007 (Forum)
had coolant changed, just as a precaution. Only real fault so far is that the OS front indicator keeps running fast when I first turn it on, then after a few seconds, it goes back to normal speed - Im assuming a loose connection somewhere? Havent had time to investigate yet. Other than that, its

  • Old Charade 12 Dec 2005 (Forum)
flys through the MOT. The engine still seems quite sweet and doesn't smoke or use any oil in between the 5 year chages!! As a new year treat for the car I'm going to get the coolant, B/fluid and pads, oil, plugs etc changed and; the timing belt. Is there anything else I should consider to prolong
  • Jeep Cherokee 4 litre S reg 7 Dec 2005 (Forum)
condensor fan cuts in every few mins even with the aircon switched off. Apart from that, the engine and cooling system are in excellent condition and has had regular coolant change and flush through (both directions) Is there a vehicle body condition monitor or similar on these cars as Jeep wont say
  • Corsa 1.2 8v running cool 30 Dec 2004 (Forum)
. The coolant hasn't been changed before so do I need to flush the system, or is the garden hose sufficient? The car has 80,000 miles on the clock so should I look for anything else to replace while I have all these bits off. Thanks Andrew

  • Oil Consumption - Volvo V70 2.5 20v 13 Jan 2004 (Forum)
and expensive search for the problem? The car exhibits no other problems that I can see. Coolant levels are stable and the oil does not have signs of emulsifying. It is also usually quite clean. Cheers Mike
  • 306DT no hot air 7 Dec 2003 (Forum)
? I'm lost. Is it possible for the matrix to fill with grime, does anyone know the flow path, is it possible for the coolant to just be passing over the top and not through the fins. Removing the entri dash and maxtrix is all I have left to do, but I would rather avoid it. HELPPPPPPP cheers H

milky gunge. Get the system pressure tested at a Vauxhall franchised dealer - fails test. Car not driven any further. Garage removes heads and finds that the whole cooling system is clogged with emulsified oil/coolant. Car needs new radiator, heater matrix, head gaskets, oil cooler, etc, etc
  • Rover 414 stalling 3 Oct 2003 (Forum)
-starts perfectly. My garage have replaced the spark plugs, distributor, rotor arm, ignition coil, engine temperature and coolant temperature sensors. If I can drive on quiet roads, the temparture never gets hot enough to cause the problem. Can someone advise me on what the problem might be (or how I can
  • Diesel Smoking / Additive 8 May 2003 (Forum)
that this smoke can be attributed to the aditive cleaning the engine, or is it normal for a diesel of this age to do this until the engine warms. Or is here something afoot? Car runs perfectly though. Am I worringly unnecessarily? P.S. It was the sender that was faulty on my coolant temp problem. Thanks

the engine coolant, brake fluid and gearbox oil, plus the air and pollen filters. The charming lady receptionist point blank refused "Is no necessary" in her best English. My Spanish is not yet good enough to argue the point so there the matter rested. I have insisted on intermediate oil & filter
  • Omega - oil leaking onto manifold 19 Feb 2003 (Forum)
My neighbour's Omega ('94, 3.0 elite) has just had a coolant leak sorted out by replacing a leaking 3-way heater valve. It was also serviced at the same time. The mechanic (a Vx specialist) noted that the car had more than it's fair share of oil leaks (none of which were serious - rocker cover
  • Peugeot 306 Replacement Engine 3 Jan 2003 (Forum)
I've just been told my a garage that the problems I've been encountering with my 306 (97 D Turbo, only 54k miles) mean that I need a new engine. Basically the problem was that the engine was losing coolant, and the head gasket went. I had anticipated that this would cost a few hundred pounds
  • 306 DTurbo starting 16 Dec 2002 (Forum)
times until it will eventually run. Once started, it runs fine, plenty of power and it is not using any coolant or oil (Headgasket was done 6K ago). I thought it could be air getting into the fuel system somewhere, so I pumped the priming bulb several times. There is a slight weep from the top
  • Semi-busted Xantia cooling fan 1 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Hi all, Having now worked out why the coolant temp was fluctuating so much, it appears the retaining screw that holds the blades onto the left motor has done a runner, hence the blades have now fallen off (but are thankfully trapped between the grill/bumper and motor). Must have been off
