Hi, how many of you have tried a successful piston ring and/or big end bearing change on the alloy block se zetec engines. Ford recommend the bottom ends shouldn't be stripped but over the years I've done several. Most of the time the engines were heavy oil users, some went on to misfire -

Removing oil from concrete 16 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Finally got round to doing the oil-change on the Almera that I've been putting off for weeks (months!). Only problem is that just as the last few dribbles emerged from the sump, a gust of wind sprayed oil all over the parking area outside my house (and all over me, as I was under the car). Anyone -
VW 505 01 oil in B4 engines? 13 Feb 2007 (Forum)
I run three turbo diesels, one needing VW505 01 and two French motors which specify B4 oil. Am I right in thinking that VW505 01 oil is a tougher spec than B4 and I therefore only need to keep one oil in the shed, namely a fully synth 505 01 spec and use it in all three engines on a 6k change -

Cheapest oil 26 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Changed my oil today, and it made me wonder whether I could get the oil cheaper. Although I have a small fleet of vehicles (well, three) they all use different oil so I can't really buy in great bulk. So does anyone know what chains sell cheap oil to the public? 10W/40, API SL rated, semi synth -
Peugeot 3008 - Turbo Failure 12 Oct 2013 (Forum)
the service out in April they recorded mileage wrong. When I got roadside assistance the operative said he believed there was diesel in the oil, a fault sometimes seen after a turbo change. 96N Peugeot 405 19.TD oil in air box 3 Mar 2006 (Forum)
disappeared. The filter was last changed 6k ago. The problem was that the left side of the filter seemed to be soaked with engine oil. On having a look, I noticed that the oil seemed to be entering the filter box from a breather hose at the bottom of the box, which seems to lead to a valve on the left hand -
