Unlikley,

More like engine internal faults.

If it were here I'd do a compression leakage test,

Which is a more accurate test than a compression test.

And I'm assuming you've looked underneath for leaks?

15 litres of oil every 60 miles!!! I'm surprised you can't be seen from space with oil usage like that.

Poorly maintained Duratec engines are known for sticking or worn piston rings, usually thanks to infrequent oil changes or use of the incorrect grade.

Considering you can buy a good one of these for £500 I don't know if I'd spend much on it.

The car is 15 years old and the OP does not say how many miles it has done. But I find it hard to believe it is truly using 15 litres of oil every 60 miles, if it were I woule be surprised it it actually ran. That would mean theoretically its using more oil than petrol which would oil up the plugs, cause detonation, wreck the catalyst etc. A total loss 2 stroke would use less oil than that.

Can the OP check their facts.

I imagine (and hope !) that they meant 1.5 litres per 60 miles. Which is still ridiculously high. I'd be astonished if a car using that much oil could pass an MOT.

Actually.. I mean ... every 60 miles 15liter petrol...... no oil...

no leaks or something... just failure oxygen sensor
