just done 49k plus miles... why smoke and oil spray coming out when i remove engine oil cap while engine run.. this happend now, after the garage done the changing of seal on injection(four injection on top of engine)... though no smoke coming out from exhaust..

Wth the engine running, of course oil is going to spray out if you open oil filler cap! just beneath the cap is all the moving parts!

why on earth would you risk taking the oil cap off with the engine running ?????????

I sometimes wonder whether the users need the "hazard sticker" placed on them and not the parts !

Some oil caps if removed with the engine running can send out a serious spray of hot oil !

A lot of engines these days will just stop If you take the cap off, but in defence of the OP, it never used to be like that. You used to take the cap off for a good smell and look for blue fumes. Not so long ago either so lets stop getting so b****y.

You did indeed, but after you had switched off the engine. Otherwise you would have got a face full of oil at 80 + degrees C whilst you sniffed and then a visit to A & E.
