  • Popping and difficult starting motorbike 3 Jul 2007 (Forum)
I have a CK125 motorbike (basically the Honda CG125) and I am having two problems which may be related. 1. On start up and during use, I sometimes get a popping sound from the exhaust. It doesn't happen all the time, but has happened a few times now. 2. It is difficult to start using the electric
  • Retro Fit 6th Seat ? 18 Jun 2007 (Forum)
We have a four year old Honda CRV which has been a great car and would be for another six years I guess. The problem is we need a 6th seat for occassional accomodation of a young child. The boot area is plenty big enough, in fact bigger than most 7-seaters we have looked at, so the question
  • Gap Insurance 20 Feb 2007 (Forum)
When placing an order for a new Honda CRV recently (No HP involved) , the salesman offered my son-in-law Gap Insurance to cover a period of 3 years from new for about £325. I really know little about this type of insurance, except that it can be useful if a car purchased on HP is written off

I've got a Honda Jazz and love it to bits and now it's time to replace it! It's a 52 plate but will have to spend a few thou to update it to an 04 plate or I could go for something different and get nearly new. What do I do .... Replacements we've looked at are Vauxhall Merivas, Mitsubishi Colts
  • Focus 4 x 4 a cracker 1 Aug 2006 (Forum)
As someone who was contemplating buying the forthcoming Honda CRV, which is due to be launched later this year, if the preview pictures are to be believed, the thing is so ugly, there is no way I will be buying one. What a pleasant surprise however to see this week`s Auto Express release
  • Optional Extras Rip Off 24 Apr 2006 (Forum)
It amazes me how manufacturers can charge what they do for some optional extra's. I have just looked at the Honda web site for example and they charge £1400 for Bluetooth and Sat Nav in the accord. Compared to a Tom Tom 700 at approx £350ish from some web sites - that is a saving of £1050

  • vtec and economical driving 8 Dec 2005 (Forum)
IIRC, i read somewhere (possibly HJ's column?) that to get the best fuel economy from a vtec engine, it is better to keep the revs higher than normal. Is this correct, and why? My honda 2 litre vtec accord tourer does about 28 mpg around town and about 34 on longer journeys. Anyone got any tips
  • Civic -cv joint knocking - def. replace? 13 Oct 2005 (Forum)
Hi all, 1998 Honda Civic 1.5i I've got 2 split outer CV joints - first noticed a month or so ago. I know I've left it too long and now I have knock on turning left and right. My garage wants to pre-order the new outer joints. I just wanted to check on here that this is the right way to go

  • When a bike meets a car 29 Jul 2004 (Forum)
No, not in an accident, but deliberately. The main photo shows a Honda Hornet the same as I ride on the road, but I must admit, why ruin it by trying to pretend it's a car?! It doesn't even have a flat profile rear tyre to take full advantage of that fact that it's always perpendicular

  • Is My Tyre Shot? 28 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Picked up a new Honda CRV yesterday and did about 60 miles. Went out this morning and the rear driver side tyre is flat. On closer inspection there is a screw in it. We called on friends last night who are having an extension to the front of their house (nearly finished) so I suspect

  • Which spark plug? 5 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Have bought a set of plugs for a 92 Honda Civic 1.5 Lsi. According to the haynes manual they should be Champion RC9YCC4, which I have in at present. According to the supplying motor factors they should be RC8YCC4 which is what their Champion application chart states it to be. The plugs
