Ford Mondeo IV (2007 - ) - 09 2.0 Harsh on 18" alloys - advice on change to 13 Oct 2009 (Forum)
might suffer a bit but I'm no boy racer so happy to compromise. Would this make a significant difference? Would the Titanium X be OK on smaller wheels (offset, brakes etc)? Should I get genuine Ford alloys? Should I sell the OE 18" wheels and tyres or keep for refitting when I change the car? Any -
NIP Received for Red Light offence. 10 Oct 2009 (Forum)
knew it would be more dangerous to stop on a 40 road than to go through i was commited to carrying on. I completley dispute the fact that it was a red light. I was told by my instructor it is better to go through amber if you feel suddne braking would cause an accident and this is what i did -
Hands-free mobile phones are deadly 26 Sep 2009 (Forum)
by the Transport Research Laboratory found slower reaction times for drivers using hands-free mobiles than for those who were above the legal drink drive limit. The tests included getting motorists to brake suddenly while driving at 70mph. Compared to the stopping distance of a driver in normal circumstances -
Speed limit reductions 12 Sep 2009 (Forum)
50 mph it was time to slow down for the bend. On the roads around the Peak District that is fairly soon. There are many more cars on the road now and some of the drivers need to be told to slow down. OK, I?ve heard the arguments about braking and suspension systems being improved, but some -

Mazda Mazda 6 (2002 - 2007) - 05 2.0 Uneven tyre wear at the rear 7 Aug 2009 (Forum)
months wear out of them if they weren't wearing unevenly - it's very annoying having to change a tyre when the outer edge gets to 2mm, when the inner edge is still around 5mm ! I'm having no other noticeable suspension or brake problems, so is it simply a case of getting the tracking/toe/camber etc -

Renault Megane (1996 - 1998) - 98 1.6 RT Sport - poor idle, loss of power etc 1 Jun 2009 (Forum)
The car will run o.k from cold (most of the time) but then it will suddenly lose all power and is unable to idle and if I am driving at the time it will cut out as I slow down for junctions and then I lose the steering and brakes, which is quite scary! The only word I can think of to decribe -

happy new year from oz 26 Jan 2009 (Forum)
in front suddenly stopped causing us to brake sharply. A little spiky thing with a snout was the cause, an echydna, the only egg-laying mammal apart from the platypus. Haven't seen one of those, or a live kangaroo although there are dead ones at the roadside like foxes in England. Happy New Year. What's -

FIAT Panda (2003 - ) - Panda ECO models 11 Nov 2008 (Forum)
these changes and am not sure whether to stick with the standard model (132 CO2?). The dealer is understandably unhelpful. (1) will the grip/handling/ride/braking be affected in any way with the low resistance tyres (I don't think the Panda's levels of grip are especially high anyway)? (2) what happens -

Austin (Rover) Mini (1972 - 2001) - 1991 1.3i Lights have gone out... 23 May 2008 (Forum)
Hi - hope someone can help. Have just bought a pre-owned 1991 Mini after 20 years without, and am rediscovering the joys of Mini electrics. Headlamps and instrument lights were working OK; I used the full beam switch, and (almost) all the lights died. Still working: brake lights, indicators -
Volkswagen Eos Coupe Cabrio (2006 - ) - 07 2.0 VW DSG am I wearing the clutch out ? 21 Apr 2008 (Forum)
SWMBO has a generally excellect EOS with DSG that I worry about for two reasons. 1. Will the roof keep working .............. but that's not what I'm posting about. :-) 2. In stationary traffic I need to keep my foot on the brake to prevent creeping. I'm aware that the clutch is a "wet" one
