Ford Fiesta 1.25 - Servicing 18 Aug 2010 (Forum)
Car is coming up to 3 years old with 21k miles so needs MOT and service to comply with Ford warranty. Is it essential (or advisable) to use a Ford main dealer especially as the 3 year warranty is due to expire. I ask this as I'm not too happy with the attitude of the local Ford dealer -
Never a better time to buy (if you have the money) 4 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Looking back through some records the other day we realised that its never been as cheap to buy a used or new car. Yout typical 2 year old car (Avensis in this case) has dropped about £3000 since March, simlair price drops on Corolla and about £2000 ish for a Yaris, Landcrusiers are off the scale -
Ungrateful children.... 7 Jul 2008 (Forum)
are not cool because the little old lady over the road owns one! I am now informed it has to be a Saxo or Peugeot 106. Try finding one of them not owned/thrashed or modified by some young lad. Back in my day, tha knows, I began saving for my first car aged 12, cleaning cars for neighbours, caddying at the golf -

Watch out - Workmen about 31 May 2007 (Forum)
Just had a note from my youngest boy - less than 1 yr old car parked at work on Friday - car park next door being relaid (unknown to him as he gets in at 7 am). Due to high winds the "grit and pink fluffy dice " form the relay has covered his and 20 other cars. The bill will be substantial -
How to get a new car for £134.19 4 Sep 2006 (Forum)
recesses did for our three and a half year old, owned from new, V70. It brought memories of collection day in Breda flooding back. You get that nice, tactile, feel of a new car together with the smell (open the door and "new car" rushes out to your nostrils) and the interior look (if like our V70 -

Getting garage to fix intermittant fault 16 Jul 2006 (Forum)
Hi, got my 8 month old car booked in for some bits, two of them are intermittant. Like, its all fine for maybe a week or two then the faults might appear once or twice, then could be ok for a week or so, etc... I have given the garge as much info as I can, but I don't want them to phone me up -
Fiesta handling woes 25 May 2006 (Forum)
in and gripping. The car is also tramlining like never before on the motorway, but it's the rear that feels unsettled. I've had the car on stands, and can't find any excessive play in any of the suspension components. I've checked bolts are tight, that the shocks aren't leaking (they're only 6 months old anyhow -

Why don't the Germans like alloy wheels? 20 Feb 2006 (Forum)
was that very few cars had alloy wheels. This included the vast majority of BMW and Audi cars and many Mercs. In fact, I saw quite a few with the plastic wheel trims missing and the black steel wheels showing, and they looked awful! Imagine a 2-3 year-old BMW 5 series in such a state. Spotting this became -
What small Car 15 Jun 2005 (Forum)
Well looks like the old AX diesel could be on it's last legs, not too sure but the clutch seems strange, although it was changed about 3 yrs ago. I have always had my doubts as when I bought it @ around 45k (now 118K) I was told that it had a replacment already. The reason the last one went -
60mile commute to work 8 Apr 2005 (Forum)
+ a day). I can't decide on whether to take a company car or use my own. I can get a pretty decent car (golf GTI, bmw 3 series) from the company for about £420/month (ie including tax, loss of allowance, etc). Or I could drive my current car (5yr old Golf GTI), but am loath to put 15k extra miles -
New Car? 26 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Hello, Managed to save up enough money to treat myself to a nicer, shinier, newer car than present runabout ('97 Pug 106). Have got about three to three and a half grand to spend plus whatever the 106 gets. Problem is, I don't know what the 106 is worth. Its a 1997(P) 3dr Extra Time special edition -
Hit & Run Nightmare 4 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Hi everyone, Last night, returning from the cinema we took the usual short cut along a fairly narrow twisty stretch of road, from Scunthorpe towards the Humber Bridge. My girlfriend was driving her 1 year old Fiesta. I noticed a car coming from the opposite direction around a tight bend who -
XR2i CVH low idle and cutting out 11 Dec 2003 (Forum)
idle speed. Other times the car will cut out when the revs drop. It is getting a bit dangerous having the car cut out at busy junctions. I have checked the throttle body for any old deposits but it is fine, I even spayed carb cleaner around the throttle body but this made no change to the situation -
Avensis Diesel 1 Oct 2003 (Forum)
that it resets itself when I refuel the car. So far I've covered 300 miles in the car and although it doesn't perform like my old VW, it is a nice drive with great build quality. Regards, John -

(doesn't happen often), and I've taken my car there three times now. First for a timing belt change (£120.00), second for an oil and filter change (£24.99) and today for a service.
