In follow on mode from the ?small people reaching controls ? thread?, do you suit the car you drive?. Are you a ?tall Guy? driving a mini with your head stuck out of the sun-roof, or are you ?dwarfish? person peering through the spokes of a ?Jags? steering wheel?. To start it off, I?m 5ft 7in -

Trader - no test drive? 26 Jun 2007 (Forum)
I looked at an SLK 320 tonight. The trader was at his house (mansion) with about 25 BMWs & Mercs on the driveway. He said he'd just washed it etc for others to look at. I think he thought I was a test pilot, not serious etc as I was vague about the other cars I had seen. He said I could drive -
I want to be a driving instructor... 30 Oct 2006 (Forum)
After being turned down for promotion yet again, I think it's time for me to look for a new career. Been thinking of training to be a driving instructor. There always seems to be a few adverts in the papers for these jobs, I suppose what puts most people off is the initial cost of the training -
Driving to the UK 2 Jun 2006 (Forum)
With the kids now being considered old enough, this summer will be the first one where we will drive to the UK. Other than the problem of having a German registration in the aftermath of the World Cup (have to hope that England have at least more success than Germany!) does the BR have any tips -
Driving Standards 11 Nov 2004 (Forum)
There have been a lot of posts recently along the lines of how much other drivers annoy us, scare us, wind us up or generally just drive like total muppets. As opposed to the criticisms, what constructive suggestions can the Back Room produce to improve general driving standards? The only -
L-plates on Motorways 18 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Noticed that the government have decided (after 2 years deliberation) that learner drivers should not have motorway driving as part of their training. I personally know at least 2 people who won't drive on motorways as they find them frightening, if they had had motorway driving as part -
Old Timers Driving Tests 4 Feb 2004 (Forum)
Clearing out the attic a week or two ago I found my fathers driving licence issued by the local county council in 1930 ( he was then 26 years old ). I wondered if he actually ever had to take a driving test? Sadly he's not around to ask any more. Any motoring historians out there - when did -
Legal underage driving 21 Jan 2003 (Forum)
Am I right in thinking that driving off the highway does not require a licience? i.e. someone under 17 could drive in a private field legally. If that is right, does it follow that for a private field, read large empty supermarket car park. Of course there are public liability issues because -
Is gentle driving bad for an engine? 13 Dec 2002 (Forum)
In a similar vein to Mark(RLBS)'s thread on 'mollycoddling' cars, does anyone know if continually driving in a restrained manner can actually damage your car's engine? I vaguely remember reading somewhere that failure to 'exercise' the engine into the upper rev range can cause problems. Can -
Drive Offs - New Policy. 10 Aug 2001 (Forum)
As a result of the thread on here about drive offs. I had a chat with my Solicitor today. What we have decided, where the Police can't or won't prosecute for drive offs, we will. I will pay LVLO for the plate details and then chase the buggers through the civil courts. Burden of proof is much -

Perhaps it is safer to drive when on the phone? 18 May 2010 (Forum)
As opposed to parking in at least, inconsiderately, at worst dangerously, to answer the phone. this from my own local observations. PS It's mostly women at fault, I suppose the men still keep driving. cheers M -
Driving Instructor Grades 6 Apr 2003 (Forum)
If I understand correctly driving instructors are rated 1-6 according to their ability. Does it depend on their test scores they obtain on becoming an instructor or overall experience/pass rate %? I'm a loser, baby....so why don't you kill me?! -
