mk 2 vw polo 1988..old style mechanical cam driven pump i replaced the fuel pump last year as it was damp...just latley the car has stunk of fuel , but i could never find a leak....well i found that the pump leaks like crazy for about 1 min then stops is it normal for a pump to fail after a year -

an old cam belt? Would it snap anyway regardless of how new the belt was? I've been tempted by one of these cars but obviously don't want to go for it if the engine is likely to knack up after five minutes! Can anyone advise? -

drained the old fluid out and replenished with new plus the enhancer. There has been an improvement, the car is more responsive but I feel it is only a temporary arrangement until I can afford a new steering rack. I can recommend it only as a short term pallitive.
