The above has done 20,000 on the Longlife service regime and is due its first service. Can you kindly suggest what should be done, according to VW? Its not being serviced (next week) by a VW dealer: I want to ensure that all that should be done will be. Any idea what this should cost? The car is in warranty, two years' old; the brakes have always been a little noisy, since new. Should I expect VW to look at them? I think HJ has said in the past that brakes were an issue with this car.
Many thanks

Shouldn't it be serviced at 2 yrs regardless of mileage?

Hmm Its in warranty, and not being serviced by a VW dealer? I would strongly sugest its serviced BY a VW dealer in warranty, then you wouldnt need to ask what needs to be done, because they will know.

The VW dealer will know, plus the details should be in your service book
"the brakes have always been a little noisy, since new."
If you have it serviced by a VW dealer, tell them at the service and they will fix any problems covered by warranty. (minus of course any consumables, which pads, disks, and shoes are)

Yes, it should be done after 24 mths: the service indicator came on recently. I'm not having a VW service 'cos, being in the military, we have qualified mechanics and servicers who'll do it for a good price (and it's no longer a requirement to have a dealer service or void the warranty). I'll have to take it to a dealer, however, to get warrany work done. I'll check the service book (if I have one...) Thanks.

For the warranty to be still valid the mechanic servicing your vehicle needs to be V.A.T. registered.
