  • proton - Why have Proton failed to get established? 7 May 2013 (Forum)
A Query, why have Proton failed to establish themselves in the UK? Are they established in mainland Europe? What is the set up with Proton UK? Do they import themselves or do they have an agent acting on their behalf? I presume their cars are generally reliable
  • Fresh Air 1 Feb 2012 (Forum)
In the good old days (1980s) I used to drive Vauxhalls and the centre face vent was connected to the outside air. I could have toasty warm feet, demisted windscreen and cold air to breathe and keep me awake. Climate control, air con etc are all wonderful and I would not be without them

  • Is cow saliva corrosive? 7 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Was stationary in a herd of Fresians a few weeks back. End of Old Coal Pit lane (A5270) near Buxton. The usual gentle jostling and occasionally worried that an elderly cow was going to end up on the bonnet. A few beasts licked the car and now am amazed that it seems to have damaged the paintwork

  • James May - light, fast, economical challenge 5 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Anyone got any suggestions for a new engine + old bodyshell challenge? I reckon a Renault Supercinq 1.7 Monaco with a 1.5 dCi engine, chipped to 120ish bhp, would do the job nicely. Does anyone fancy building one? I can't find a Monaco but I have found a suitable looking GTX as a donor car.

I have recently bought a 1995 Toyota Corolla Kudos Plus 1331 cc. The lady I bought it off told me that the immobiliser does not work. I need to fit a new battery to the vehicle. My concern is if I disconnect the old battery will the immobiliser 'kick in' and then will I be unable to start
  • Renault Laguna III -Bit disappointing to look at? 10 Sep 2007 (Forum)
I have been looking at the new Laguna as a possible replacement. I am sure it's a far better car than the old model in many ways but it looks a bit dull. Ugly even. Maybe it will grow on me. Not sure the 1.5dCi engine will be a good match - the 2.0dCi would be my choice. Anyone else seen it yet?

  • Ford mondeo- washer jet 26 May 2006 (Forum)
well the rear washer jet seems to have stopped working on the mondeo. I investigated the cause and it turns out that the water in the rear seems to be collecting in the boot rather than washing the screen. Now would you expect this to be covered under warranty on a 16month old car? Ford seem

Anyone else got a problem with their convertible roof? Mine is only 18 months old 12,000 miles but the roof is badly marked from the inside with the pile being rubbed off. So far Saab is denying responsibility but to me its clearly a design/build fault. I had no such problems on my previous car
