Cigarette lighter install - Pug 106 - Lawrenma2
Hi,

My car is quite old (94 Pug 106), so doesn't have a cigarette lighter.

I'd like to have an aftermarket one fitted, but don't know if this is possible, as never heard of it before.

This is to enable me to charge my phone.

Does anyone know if this is possible to DIY, have fitted, or an idea of cost & where to buy the part?

Thanks!

Not age related surely- they go back a long way to even when I were a lad. Some new cars ie Passat do not come with cigarette lighters.
I'd look at another Peugeot 106, possibly a higher specification one, to see where the lighter is fitted.
May be you can get a console/ashtray assembly from a breaker.

We had an "L" reg 106 in the family. The cigarette lighter was fitted into one of the spaces under the heater controls, by the hazard warning/heated screen switches. I would try a breakers for one first, you may be able to see the exact "hole" it came from. You may even find that the wiring loom has been fitted as standard.

if you find the loom wires are there make sure you get your positive on the centre of the cigarette lighter terminals or your phone will go up in a puff quicker than merlin can say kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaapooooooooooooosh
