Renault Scenic (2003 - 2009) - 2004 1.9 dCi poor fuel consumption 7 Apr 2008 (Forum)
I have noticed recently that the fuel consumption of the wife's Scenic has dropped by about 10-20%. The car has a fairly awful daily commute through very slow traffic but normally manages 36 mpg. This is now 31 mpg. Engine still starts well and no drop in power. The car was serviced at 2 years old -
Ford C-Max TDCi - Long Term 22 Jun 2007 (Forum)
around the 2yr/60k mark from auction, Zetec or above to get the sliding seats. I would be planning to keep the car for 4 years and taking it up to 120k. Now I know there are backroomers who have hit 100k plus in their TDCi's - but they won't be 6 years old. Should I stick with what I know i.e. petrol -
Fair price for Passat TDI PD estate 8 Sep 2006 (Forum)
and was 6 years old this month, I've owned the car from new and it has done 90,000 miles. It as all the toys as standard (full electric pack, auto dimming mirror, climate control, 6 disk DC, etc., etc.) I would estimate that 90% of the mileage has been long motorway journeys and with only me in the car -
Is my old Golf a write off?? 1 Oct 2005 (Forum)
it now. The guy was very sure of what he is talking about and apparently once the head has to come off to have any work done it will cost at least 300 quid which is more work than the car is worth. Is there anything else that would cause it to miss on one cylinder while idling that might not require -
Good Old DVLA 10 Jun 2005 (Forum)
Despite my wife's usual efficiency in all things paper based she has lost the paper part of her photocard licence - she hasn't needed it until now when she needs to hire a car. The silver lining is that in looking for it all our paperwork has now been sorted out, all I need now is an industrial -
K Series RIP ? 7 Jun 2005 (Forum)
, apparently not unknown on the 1.8 K Series. Now assuming I get the car cheap enough I could either: 1. Get a replacement K Series or 2. Being me, I like a good challenge. At work we have a 1.8 Mondeo that's up for sale for £350 (it's an old MK1 model) so I was thinking of buying the old Mondeo and seeing -

Tide turning back in favour of diesel? 26 Jul 2017 (Forum)
I notice the price of diesel cars has dropped significantly. Not only has the premium on list price been wiped out but many are now cheaper than the petrol equivalent. Especially 1-2 yr old models. Granted these are not Euro 6. But at this age you get the benefit of warranty, mpg and torque -
Will you ever learn????? 14 Dec 2016 (Forum)
As with previous lead up to Xmas like others my old Force, North Yorks has started a campaign addressed against the demon drink/drug drive. Less than a week into it they report so far 22 (TWENTY TWO) have been arrested. Unbelieveable. So what arrangements are you making for a sober -
Hyundai Getz - Hyundai Getz: any opinions? 10 Oct 2016 (Forum)
Are these reliable little cars? Looking for a cheap runabout, not bothered about styling or equipment levels. I've seen a 2006 Getz with low mileage (50k) for £1.3k. I seem to remember the old Hyundais had a 10yr warranty, or something like that. When they were first gearing -
Toyota Avensis - Still Covered by Manufacturers Warranty? 1 Jun 2016 (Forum)
Hi, Looking at diving in for a petrol Avensis. Noticed that the 2nd service interval was missed by 6 months, as the owner decided to wait until it hit 20k instead. From a warranty point of view, will Toyota still cover it, as technically it has missed the 2nd interval?? Car -
