Please help with a car decision 19 Feb 2017 (Forum)
Well after 10 years with my lovely Micra now need to buy a new car. Sadly I wrote off my beloved 11-year-old Micra. So I am now looking for a replacement. I realise that what is important to me is a car that will last a long time so I don't have to replace it for a while, I don't really enjoy car -
small 6-7 seat MPV - Best used small MPV (£5k - £10k) 4 Aug 2010 (Forum)
motorways and A-roads. Reliability is important (though I recognise that guaranteed reliability of some makes can be a myth, as can unreliability from other makes), safety is important. Fuel economy not so important, but I don't want to lose too much on depreciation, so it'll probably have -
What to buy 19 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Hi all. My first post though I've been reading for a while. I'm looking to replace my ageing but excellent 306 in the new year and would like some guidance as to what car to buy. Nearly all of my driving is on the motorway, so something quiet and comfortable at 70mph is important. (I normally -
Changing - Legacy to Outback 23 Oct 2006 (Forum)
for this, 2 for that etc., etc. Eventually I got through and asked what would be the additional cost. After a long wait the adviser said that their system did not recognise the Subaru Outback. When I described it she replied that it was obviously a Japanese import and subject to a whole new system. She -
Any - 0 to 60 acceleration 7 Mar 2014 (Forum)
I am interested in people's views on the importance of time taken to accelerate from 0 to 60. Does it make a real difference in situations such as entering roundabouts, entering motorways ? Is it really significant anyhow ? If so what is the maximum time that is acceptable -

Privacy glass. Why? 10 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Having read the review of the Toyota Auris , it seems the top spec models come with the rear windows tinted as standard. Why do people want this? It ruins the look of the car and serves no purpose. I remember when it signified that you had a car that was imported from Japan. Anyone care to explain -
Renault Megane Coupe 22 May 2006 (Forum)
Have had a price of £14,500 for a new Megane coupe Dynamique that has been imported from Cyprus. Is this value for money? Is there anything that I should be aware of, any pit falls on this deal? I have been told by the salesman that it has a full 3-year British warranty - is this true? - I haven't -
Subaru Legacy @ Motorpoint for £12.000 25 Jan 2006 (Forum)
£12,000 for a new Legacy 2.0 RE @ Motorpoint seems a good buy. However these are imported via Malta/Cyprus Are any BR aware of differences in spec etc that takes the edge off a £4,000 saving? I was told that you have to have the car serviced more often and that the cars are not undersealed -

Hi all, the power steering return line for my 1990 MX5 has corroded and is leaking. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement at a more reasonable cost than the dealer (over £100). I've read that sometimes importing the parts can be cheaper. Thanks Mark -

After posting on the 'I have a question thread' [important email virus bit at the bottom, advise people to read] I got the above error message? Have I hacked into a secret world of HonestJohn? Or should I just go to bed? ;-) Kev [Going back to uni tomorrow, so au revoir for a while] -
Car Supermarkets - Good or Bad? 29 Jul 2003 (Forum)
I keep reading a lot about Car Supermarkets. Are they good or bad? I understand you cant test drive the car, and haggling is pretty much not available (given that they have low prices anyway). I've also heard of cars being imports without paperwork, or dents etc, but I wondered if they get a raw -
Nissan Owners - Useful website 3 Jul 2003 (Forum)
It would seem that some overseas vehicle importers actually make good use of the internet. Nissan South Africa have an on-line illustrated parts catalogue for Nissan vehicles: http://www.nissan.co.za Then click on \"Owning\" then on \"Parts\". Then there are instructions to help you. I have -
The People's Champion 2 Oct 2002 (Forum)
Caught an item on the radio to-day where Red Ken got a taxi from the Labour Party Conference (I think, didn't get it all) back to London at a cost of £240, the tab to be picked up by London's taxpayers. Seems he couldn't use public transport as he was in a hurry to attend "Some Important Meetings -
