Volvo V60 (2010 - 2018)
D4 SE Lux Nav Auto
Not a real load-lugger but adequate for most purposes, comfortable and reliable
I purchased this car at 2,750 miles as a p/x for my V60 Cross Country which was a fine, trouble free car but had too much roll in corners for my liking and for that of rear seat passengers. It has had only one fault which was an intermittent failure of the stop start system with 'flat battery' warnings Unfortunately, this required three visits to two dealers before the battery was replaced under warranty. This is reflected in the dealer rating which would otherwise have been 5 stars.
I live in a rural location and find the gearshift paddles, which I had retro-fitted, a huge benefit on the undulating and bendy roads. The engine is pretty good, with plenty of power to safely get past tractors, horse boxes etc when conditions permit. Being a diesel there is a bit of rumble and there is also some wind noise, but neither is intolerable.
The SE lux trim gives leather faced seating, electrically operated driver seat, auto folding mirrors, DAB radio, etc. My only gripe is that the SatNav is a fiddle to operate with the rotary control and, despite 'training' it, the voice recognition system seems to find almost every town name ambiguous. My old fee-standing Garmin unit is much better.
Some reviews mention that the interior is dated compared to the new models. I tried a new V60, as I was considering a change, but hated the huge iPad looking screen and large expanses of glossy dash which would give me migraines in no time.
