Volvo V60 (2010 - 2018)
D3 SE Lux Start/Stop 5dr Estate
Appreciating its values more and more
I was looking for my first estate car to match my `active lifestyle' as the marketing jargon goes. I was reluctant to get a traditional `barge' style estate and had my head turned by the V60 which to me is a good looking car and something different from the masses of BMWs, Audis and VW Passats on the roads. I opted for a one year old ex-Volvo management vehicle which was loaded with kit and seemed very good value for money. After a year of ownership I am very pleased with the car. The fuel economy on a steady motorway run can be exceptional (I've seen 74mpg average on the car's computer!) and generally average around 51mpg in mixed driving which for a big car with 163 bhp is pretty good in my view. The build quality is very good and a real step up from my last Volvo which was a 2003 S60. One of the minus points in reviews of the car mention that the boot is small. In terms of traditional estate cars, this may be the case, but I've had no problem fitting all the gubbins for a family of four's holiday in the boot and I find the seat folding options to be pretty flexible. Other good points are the comfort (great seats), great stereo, good Bluetooth/Ipod connectivity, sat nav and ride quality. Overall I'm very happy with the car and so far reliability has been faultless.
