Volvo V60 (2010 - 2018)
d3 163 5 cylinder version
Great all round car, very underestimated.
Having owned other volvos such as v70/xc90 etc i had for what ever reason swayed towards a 320d touring. I tought this was the best my money could buy. Within 6 months i had replaced £1500 of parts on the 320d and had become very frustrated with its gruff 4 pot engine and harsh handling. Back to volvo for me!
Bought the v60 based on brand and based on looks, what i discovered was much much more! The refined d3 5cylinder is so smooth, both on start up and when driving. It has a nice surge of torque and sounds fantastic.
The handling was a surprise, mine being the r design sits a little lower. Its not bmw harsh (yes i use harsh instead of sporty) it remains comfy but feel agile and responsive and takes corners well.
Inside the seats are just fantastic, the clutch operation lights and steering just right.
Really its a fantastic car and covers so many bases very well. Its stunning to look at, did i mention comfy, has enough space for most occasions and we have 2 dogs. The rear seats all split fold individually so you can for example fold the middle seat to fit long object through while still seating 4 in comfort.
My example has covered 95 k miles with volvo service history, it feels like new and my only gripe is the drivers seat bolster is prone to wear.
Gotta dash, i need to peek out my window and admire it from a distance...
