Volkswagen Polo (2017 on)
1.0 TSI 95PS 5speed SE 5dr
Excellent all rounder
My first VW Polo after several Fiestas and Corsa. A big improvement - it felt physically much larger, plenty of space and far more refined and relaxed to drive. Dashboard design excellent with superb visibility and layout - integrated touchscreen much neater than the Fiesta. Lots of room in the rear compared to rivals, boot space large and the rear seats fold flat neatly without catching the seatbelts. The real revelation is the 1.0 TSI engine - great performance and economy, bags of torgue from 2000 rpm no need to go beyond 4000 rpm. On the motorway cruises at 70 at 2500 rpm very quiet, plenty of acceleration in 5th gear and pulls up inclines without dropping to 4th. An amazing engine for 95 bhp it does everything. Overall a great car that gives a feeling of relaxed quality about it. Not overstyled or trying too hard. My only negative is the optional 16 inch wheels and tyres, they spoil the ride, making it jiggly and causing it to jump and skip over ridges too much. I would stick to the 15 inch with 185/65 tyres as standard on SE / Match models.
