A really nice car

I bought mine new, and I had a choice of unregistered cars in stock. It looks nice, friends with high end sporty cars compliment it, and inside it’s a pleasant place to be. I’s not qute so premium inside as a Golf, but it’s close. Ride comfort is good, it’s relatively quiet, even at speed. The seats are comfortable, and easily adjusted. It’s pleasant albeit unexciting to drive. The engine is lovely, quiet and with enough oomph for normal driving. It has high gearing, so you have to be careful not to change up too soon. I love the infotainment centre, with DAB radio, and Apple CarPlay. That said, it has rebooted about four times in 15 months, and once I could not turn the radio off even with the ignition key removed. The trick is to keep the on off button depressed until it turns off. The boot is a decent size, and mine has a spare wheel and not that stupid tyre repair gunk which will not repair a shredded tyre.

It’s had some issues. The windscreen wipers failed in torrential rain, a warranty repair. There have been several recalls to fix safety concerns, which is common on new cars. Today it was serviced at 30,000 miles, and they said a wheel bearing needs replacing, which will be done under warranty. It also has a misted front light, which will be replaced under warranty.

Fuel economy is incredible. In winter I got about 60 mpg, recently (June) I got 68 mpg, and summer values are all around 65 mpg or better. I measure mpg from fuel in and miles covered.

I like this car a lot, it’s easy to drive, comfortable, economic and good to look at. It has had a couple of issues though, so not 100% reliable, but both were or will be done under warranty.
