Very poor car
I bought the Passat thinking it was a solid and reliable choice, for a few months I thought I was right, it ticked all the boxes, it was roomy and comfortable, and had good equipment on it, such as heated front seats. However, at only 18,000 miles the engine completely seized due to an oil pump failure. The electronic handbrake failed, and rolled into the house and often caused issue, with it not releasing. The handling is poor. The only positives, was the engine was very economical and quiet once warm. I would steer clear of this model of Passat.
