Utter disappointment

Having had an older passat (1.9TDI) which served us well for nine years and reached almost 200k miles, we bought another one expecting the same reliability. We couldn't be more wrong. Simple mistake, didn't read HJ's review before buying the car.

The list of issues (both major and minor) is too long and depressing to list here. Having broken down five times on the motorway the car was eventually used for short local trips for the last eight months of our ownership. We simply couldn't bear to take it on a long journey.

Such shame that this car shook our faith in VW (credit to them, they did replace the fuel injectors on recall but we didn't have the energy for the next thing to go wrong and we eventually parted with the car recently.
