Volkswagen Golf GTI (2013 - 2020)
2.0 TSI 245 6speed GTI Performance 5dr Hatchback
a brilliant car
Not had a Golf GTI since the early eighties but this model has lived up to all my expectations. The performance is more than sufficient and i have not even tried sport mode yet!The handling especially with the LSD is excellent and the ride for such a sporting car is surprisingly good. However there is in my opinion a touch too much road noise so not sure what 19 inch wheels would be like. The car had 9000 miles on the clock when i bought it and the front tyres are already well worn.
My car is a manual version and i have to say that the box is particularly good as is the clutch. The touchscreen appears to work well but have yet to try the sat-nav as i rarely bother with it.I do however like the new digital instrument panel which is very good.As a 60s/70s music fan it is good to see that the car has a standard fit CD player.
To date the car has been reliable apart from an annoying intermittent vibration from somewhere in the dashboard.I have been surprised by the good fuel economy ie 39 considering the temptation to use the performance.Disappointingly though the car only comes with 1 years breakdown cover.
