Volkswagen Golf Estate (2013 - 2020)
2.0 TDI 150ps 6speed SE 5dr
Ignoring diesel issues with older models etc this car was fantastic
As a car review this car was bang on. Could not fault it. The 2.0 TDI was fast. I could leave fiesta ST's in the dust, it was so much fun to drive albeit a little uncomfortable on longer drives, you could feel quite a lot in the road.
Big boot and ok space in cabin. Only downside, the estate looks a bit stretched in hatchbook version - looks a little out of place?
Great MPG although C02 pretty high for a diesel. High 50's for motorway and high 40's local without trying.
I had the DPF light hit once, soon went away with a motorway run. However, got me thinking that our lifestyle is not best equip to diesel and was only a matter of time before this light hit again & maybe further issues down the line.
Modern times in UK do not approve of euro 5 engines and the depreciation was becoming too much so was sold whilst still had some value. ULEZ expansion in 2021 will probably hit car costs even worse in 2020 so though it best to get out now
