Vauxhall Astra (2009 - 2015)
Elite 16 v
Nice small reliable car
Downgraded from a 2.0 ltr insignia (diesel) after engine seizure, so thought I'd go petrol, after many diesel years. Checked all specs of different models and found Elite closest to what I'd experienced with Insignia. The vehicle is well kitted out with heated leather seats, and electric lumber, etc adjustment. Steering wheel benefits from cruise control, and radio function adjustment. Layout of cabin is good, and enough room for cups, storage, etc. Must admit the misses loves the illuminated drop down sun visors. There are enough L E D lights in and around front dash facia to give it a more up to date feel, even though car 9 years old. One thing I miss is that there is no bluetooth phone connection, although it's the same head unit as the Insignia, it's factory fitted apparently, and approx £200 to to sort via open market. Good enough room in the rear for passengers, as long as you're not all 6ft, or so, leg room quite good. Boot space us pretty average for this type of car, I do miss the larger boot from the Insignia, and A6 before, you could haul dead bodies about, and I do tend to get groans when I struggle to fit the grand kids bikes in the back, with at least one seat folded down. It's quite nippy around first, and second gear, but third is a bit unimpressive you really have to work it to get the acceleration. Very disappointed on mpg, only get around 34 mpg, and not much more on a longer run, I suppose that's what you get from changing from diesel. Overall not a bad car, reliable, looks good, and spec very good.
