Suzuki Ignis (2017 on)
1.2 Sz-T Dualjet 5dr
Practical, spacious, economical, well equipped budget car, but build quality and quality of parts disappointing,
On the plus side, this car is brilliantly practical with flexible interior space, great for big loads or 4 adults. It is well equipped, really economical easy to park, a great city/town car.
On the downside, the build quality is very much 'budget class' so quality throughout has a very cheap feel. Mine had to have driver's seat padding replaced twice under warranty due to shedding it's foam. It has clunks, rattles, squeaks and creaks aplenty and during the 2nd and 3rd MOTs it's starting to get advisories and failures due to 'perished' components, most recently the anti-roll bar drop link rubbers, all of which were split completely - quality pattern parts are reasonably priced but it would be useful to be good at DIY or know a garage with cheap labour rates (car has only done just over 30K miles). The tyres are an odd size - the original Bridgestones will set you back over £100 each and quality alternatives are difficult/expensive to come by - not what you'd expect from a budget hatchback - mine's now on budget tyres.
Love the quirky looks, practicality and equipment and I'm sure the 1.2 'heart' will go on forever, but it's very much a budget car. I do like it but not sure I'd recommend it to a friend based on my 5 years of ownership.
