Suzuki Ignis (2017 on)
1.2 GLX A/T
Super small car, solid, with no rattles or creaks with an excellent robotised automatic gear box & gorgeous looks.
We bought this car as a city run around. The areas where it has surpassed expetations have been:
1. Solid build quality - surprisingly, better than our VW Touran. Rides gravel roads surprisingly well!
2. Robotised a/t gearbox - nor as good as the amazing VW DSG, but far better than critics led us to expect and by no means a deal breaker.
3. Rear space is remarkably good for so small a car.
4. The ride is firm but well damped so whilst one can certainly feel road irregularities the car does nor crash over them in an uncomfortable fashion.
5. The general refinement is surprisingly good with no body noise and very little engine and road noise. Wind noise is more intrusive.
The weakest feature of the car is its steering which lacks proper self-centring action and feels wooden. So, after steering into a bend one must steer out of it again.
