2.5i SE Premium

Subaru need to bring more in to the UK.

I have now owned the car for three months and slightly more than 3000 miles. Love it and wish I had looked at them sooner, although there were elements of the earlier models that I didn't like. Mine is a 2015 2.5i SE Premium. I find it comfortable and quiet when I want it be. It has some nice tones when I choose to press on a bit but can be harsh if really floored. It is not a quick car in motor correspondent terms but it is quick enough for normal people. I don't notice the "excessive rolling" in bends that writers talk about either. What I know is that I find it comfortable over long journeys, it has a very pleasant cabin and it has no difficulty coping with a double horse trailer carrying one nag and multiple bales of hay up and down the local hills. I enjoy driving it far more than the larger 4x4 beasts I have been using for the past 27 years, regardless of how luxurious they were, or weren't. This is just a nice car. All reports indicate it should be reliable too (my first priority with any car) and that is backed by a friend in the USA who has now had five Outbacks. He currently has two, having bought another new one "just in case" as his last one is on 250,000+ miles. If things continue as they are I will be keeping this car for a long time. Perhaps not what Subaru might want to hear but other potential owners might. Put it this way - if I wanted to spend the money and buy new, I cannot think of anything else I would buy instead. The only "downside" is that, at 29.7 mpg, I am not getting anywhere near the published figure. However, many of my miles are short, local runs, so I'm not at all surprised. Even then, this 2.5 petrol engine is still giving me a better return than some of the big 4x4 diesels have, and unleaded is cheaper.
