Brilliant city car, which is great to drive.

We have owned Smart cars for over 15 years but this is our first electric one. We use it for shopping and sometimes driving into London - we are about 25 miles from Charing Cross. It is exempt from Tfl's congestion charege but one has to pay £10 per year to them for the privilege.
We have a conventional petrol saloon too, but I much prefer to drive the Smart. It is quiet and the weight means that it sticks well to the road. Acceleration is great.
Battery usage rises rapidly over 60mph so we tend to drive on trunk roads at around 55 mph.
The size of boot has never been an issue for us but we never carry suitcases.
We have a charger in our garage. As we have solar panels the charger is a special one with an option that only charges when there is sufficient surplus electricity being generated.
I could not be happier with this purchase.
