Practical and refined family car

Bought 1.0 3 cylinder 115 engine with DSG despite refusing to consider this engine, one year drive and I was sold. Same price for my 18 plate estate Vs same age hatchback with 1.5 TSI, however the smaller engine is fine to pull this size of car with 4 on board and suits my mainly urban journeys. Car feels very well built and more powerful and better in every way than my old focus hatchback 1.6 zetec with exception of handling. The only weak point of Octavia is suspension is soft and handling not nearly as presice as the Ford. Quieter and comfortable, hugely practical too. No problems so far in over a year except a battery that was covered by warranty and a fault from dealer replacement. But have confidence in build of the car. Paintwork is weaker than my 2013 Fabia model, but as good as Ford (also weak paint) that said, no really issues or damage just lower quality than older car. The spec is perfect for this car, enough kit on SE for daily driver, the screen and interface is simple to use. Good sound system and nice driving position. Huge space for passengers and loads. Full size spare include too. Services are dearer than my old ford but much less than my father's Volvo, on par for a decent car and Skoda dealers seem good to deal with. I did get a loan car, same model with 1.6 diesel, but the 1.0tsi was a much better and responsive car, similar economy when you consider lower petrol cost. My mpg ranges 45-60 average depending on journeys.
