A great drive - and yes - simply clever

I love this car. The drive is really excellent and would be even better if it didn't have 18" alloys with low profile tyres which I dislike. The 7 speed DSG box is better than any automatic I have ever had - and before I bought Skoda, I was a Mercedes driver for many years.
Acceleration, economy, comfort are all top class. Braking is smooth and progressive, and even at motorway speeds the car is quiet, with virtually no wind noise. The boot will swallow anything you offer it, and rear seat passengers report comfort equally as good as front passengers.Running costs are modest with fixed price servicing from Skoda and good fuel economy.
Now for the clever stuff:-
Speedometer can be changed from MPH to KPH for continental driving or driving in Ireland
Tailgate has wash wipe - if the front wipers are on, the back one comes on automatically if you put the car in reverse gear
Little plastic clip for holding car park tickets in the front windscreen
Air conditioned centre storage box
Reversing sensors - how did we ever manage without them?
Cruise control - keeps me within the speed limit - use it all the time

Report as offensive
