Skoda Kodiaq (2016 - 2024)
2.0 TSI 190ps SE L 7SEAT DSG 4X4 5dr
Dangerous mechanical failure after 3 months
The Kodiaq is a nicely designed and appointed car, and pleasurable to drive. Unfortunately this is not matched by the build quality or customer service. My brand new Kodiaq, after just 3 months and a few thousand miles, had a catastrophic oil leak while driving at 70mph on a dual carriageway. Oil poured from the bottom of the vehicle, producing smoke which began to enter the cabin. Luckily the oil covering the underside of the car did not catch fire, and the oil on the road did not cause an accident for other vehicles. The virtually new car had to be recovered on a flat bed, fluid still pouring from it as it was lifted up.
After being taken to my local Skoda dealer no communication was provided. Repeated calls were unanswered and when I finally got through I was told it could take up to 72 hours to look at the car to investigate the problem and what damage may have been caused to the vehicle. Left without our sole family vehicle, no courtesy car was offered and on enquiry was told none was available. The attitude of Skoda to a major failure in a brand new vehicle which cost over £40,000 has been indifference and disinterest.
Based on this experience I will never be buying another Skoda.
