Overall reliability

Amazing car, Solid, not a rattle after all these years and very reliable.

A very good car, so pleased with it. Owned from new and I drive about 6,000 per year only on A. Roads and B. Roads. Never drive in the city ( the nearest city is over 100 miles away ) and only about 1% in towns.
Dealer serviced from new and even now at 63,000 miles, I instruct the dealer to give it a full Skoda Dealer Service. I never drive at speeds above 60 MPH and normal for me is 40-55 MPH, quite a lot at lower speeds because some roads are only one car wide. No traffic to get held up in so my speeds are constant. I'm easy on the brakes and don't race it, no hurry to get anywhere. 50- 57 MPG is what I get. Never go above 3,000 RPM and a range of 2,000 to 3,000 RPM is normal. Over the years I've had or owned about 30 cars including Saab and Volvo and my Skoda has been more reliable than just about all of them. Ok, very simple car and few toys to play with but then I don't need them. It is very solidly built and apart from one broken road spring ( Pot-hole ) just the usual service items to replace. Would I buy another Skoda ? I would except for the fact I don't like the look of the new model, this is my second Skoda bought from new and I wish they hadn't changed the shape as the new one is all too angled looking. In days gone we used to laugh at Skoda but no more ! it's also galvanised so no rust and it looks like new.
