Porsche 911 (997) (2004 - 2008)
Gt3
Stunning performance and sound track with an uncompromising sports suspension
I went for the "comfort spec" so the car can be used at week ends as a sports tourer utilising the space behind the front seats as additional luggage/clothes storeage etc..Even with the additional option of lifting front end suspension via an on board air compressor ground clearance is very limited so care has to be exercised in entering driveways and ramps. The centre locking wheel bolts are also a pain as really only Porsche understand them and have the kit to change the wheels, but luckily no punctures so far!Performance is simply stunning with a sound track that puts you in another world if the switchable sports exhaust is implemented. The car is very much a track oriented toy that can also be used on the road but not every day or in heavy traffic.Be careful with the tyres you spec as the Michelin Cups dont like the cold or standing water hence I went for the Pirelli Corsas which in extream offer less grip on the circuit but are a better every day tyre.Running costs have not been an issue yet as the car is covered by a 2year Porsche warranty.Hopefully residual values will be better than the regular 997 due to a much more limited production run. This car is for summer open roads!!
