Terrific quality, reliability and economical luxury motorway cruiser

Hi have had Mercedes since 1990 and apart from one C class made in "the Chrysler era" they have all been about as good as it gets for solid reliability and economy.....for a large motor they can be economical. Avoid main dealers if you can, but even the so called specialists are prone to sloppy work, such as under trays and disc shields being left off after repairs!(That was a German specialist in Leeds!!) Ask around, find a garage to trust and above all buy a car with FULL service history.
Fit winter wheels and tyres and an auto box and you are sorted. Ebay has the wheels and using appropriate driving style you will be amazed who the car handles in snow, but then the germans have known that for years! A great second hand buy as long as you service as required.
I got 40mpg average over 45k miles of "press on driving"!
