Overall reliability

The longer I own it the less I like it.

Firstly I will start with the good points. The engine and transmission are terrific, very smooth, effortless and refined. Also much better fuel economy than you would imagine. The car goes like stink when you put your foot down and the gearchanges are silky smooth.

Now on the not so good points.
Reliability has been not very good. I have had problems with two electric windows not working and I had to have a very expensive ECU replacement at a dealer after it failed and made the car grind to a halt. I have also had problems with one of the air suspension units failing, which caused the car to have a rather drunken lean when parked up. Bulbs also seem to fail a lot more than you would expect.

The interior has lots of squeaks and rattles, some of the plastics are very cheap for this class of car and the leather seats don't appear to be made from very good quality leather.

The car also has air suspension and 19" AMG wheels. This gives a very poor ride for this class of car, and the handling is nothing special either. On a rough road the car picks up every small bump, and transverse ridges cause the suspension to bang. The steering is numb and lacks a self centering action. It certainly isn't a keen drivers car.

I have suffered 3 cracked wheels on my car, two of which were welded and one which needed to be replaced.

Rust has started appearing on the rear wheelarches where they meet the sill.

People do comment on the car, most of them are impressed by the looks of it. However some people don't like the looks.

In summary, a lot of car for the money but you have to ask yourself why it is so cheap for what it is.
