Mercedes-Benz CLS (2005 - 2011)
320cdi
Fabulous, sumptuous, good-looking, reliable and a joy to own.
Bought from a main dealer we stopped at for a comfort break. My wife spotted a black CLS, got a salesman to bring it out front and told us it was the car she wanted. A short test drive later and I agreed, didn't really like the black/black interior so the salesman found a silver/grey interior car we ordered unseen. Collected the car in a blizzard, had it 18months now and still look at it with pride. Its the only car I've had that other people tell me they admire. It is very different from an E Class, it wraps around you in the driving seat, its a little wider which needs consideration. We don't need more than 4 seats so its fine for us. As a previous MB owner I like the way the controls fall to hand, I have no issues at all with the foot parking brake, with 'brake hold' don't need it much anyway.
To buy it was a snap decision, I normally do loads of research on spec, prices and availability but acted on impulse this time. The dealership was joy to deal with as well, I traded in my 320cdi E class, showing its age at 7yrs old and 100K plus miles. No regrets, but CLS500 would be better.
