Mercedes-Benz C-Class (2007 - 2014)
W204 C220 CDI Elegance
Mercedes quality fixed they say?
Bought as a three year old with 5800 miles and two dealer services. Good job it had a warranty as one indicator module replaced then the other, a new throttle switch assembly which seemed to have cost over £500, exhaust sensor twice, one new horn. All in two years. Out of warranty I've had a new rear light assembly as earth burnt out. Replaced connectors on the other as blackened. In 2015 had steering lock replaced would cost about £600 at dealer, cost me just over £300 as part isnt cheap.Exhaust sensor replaced, used the Bosch spec same as Mercedes but much less cost. Car has done now 48890 July 2015 running fine at the moment. I use now an independent but trained Mercedes technician so affordable maintenance over dealer. Always kept fully serviced. I still own it as persevered, as like it otherwise. Like the beige interior and the fake leather seats working well. Fuel economy isn't bad unless you drive poorly and its an automatic so a plus point. Car still looks new for what is now nearly an 8 year old. Mercedes reliability, well my Wife's 2005 Honda Jazz CVT has run with only wiper blades replaced? Would I but another Mercedes, I don't think so. This car cost me £17500 as a three year old and that was enough given its problems. Yet I still enjoy it, must be mad.
