A drive lightens the darkest day
Since owning this car. Fortunately it is a second car and is used on high days, holidays and of course sunny days. It is a joy, a delight, fun and frivolous. Frivolous as it's not really practical, small boot space and very limited storage space inside the snug cabin could be a hindrance for every day use.But give it a sunny day, hood down winding A or B roads (that we fortunately have in abundance in N Wales) it comes into its own.
Sticks to road with little shake, powers out of corners with perfect manners. Like a lot of Japanese cars the exhaust barely makes it to a growl- but with the sun on your head, the wind in what little hair I have-who cares.
Even on stop start journeys when held up in holiday traffic I still obtain high 46 to 47 mpg. Yes, I suppose I am of the age when care and respect for the environment takes precedence over exuberance. But you don't have to drive fast to enjoy this car, its such fun driving at a canter rather than a gallop.
Whilst I accept its no Porsche Boxter my recommendation, save your money and you won't regret it, unless of course you are an out and out driving fiend, then the added performance and cache of the Porsche would win. I doubt you would get any more admiring glances, the latest MX looks superb from every angle.
