Marvellous. As Clarkson said...the perfect answer to depression

No, I'm not depressed, but this car really does cheer you up and bring a smile to your face.even in early onset of winter (writing this in November) we are still driving around with the roof down and the heated seats on 'hot'. We have taken elderly parents and friends with serious illnesses out in it - and they have all returned home invigorated - whether it's just the wind in their hair or being that little bit closer to the outdoors with the tress whizzing past, I don't know.

As a practical car I'd give it onlly half marks e.g. virtually no interior space (just about enough room for the dog in the passenger footwell), and if you're heading into the middle-years as I am it can be a bit inelegant getting out (I had visions of emulating David Duchovny in the Californication TV series, looking cool driving around in his open top Porsche, but it doesn't quite turn out that way). A few minor rattles - mainly rubber seals squeaking against metal and oddly door window glass slightly shaking when retracted...but none of that really matters.

As a drivers car, as you may have read elsewhere, it gets full marks. Push the start button, select a gear...and blast away. Lovely tight gearbox, loads of torque means even cruising in town is a delight, and really comfortable all at speeds - top upo or down (although over 75-ish with the top down is a tad noisy,, but this isn't meant to be a motorway cruiser)

The only annoyance is those emissions, esp,on the 2.0L engine, If only Mazda brought out a cleaner engine, or a hybrid, that would make it totally perfect.
