Ace

When I bought the car it turned out it had run flats so I complained to the dealer and got 4 brand new budget tyres put on the car. The early mk 3s have a design fault that dealers won't fess up to. The drains get blocked v quickly which causes water ingress - this can be severe. First I knew about it was sloshing noise! Fortunately an MX5 specialist can change the drains for £200. The cars are prone to rust around the wheel arches but this can be fixed for about £400 from a specialist body shop. Wheels get rusty too! The fabric roof is a pain to clean. But I don't like the metal roof models as the car is slightly higher and it spoils the lines. Gear change is very stiff when cold in cold weather - 6 speed box. Change of gear box oil helps. Despite these issues this is a FAB car it brings a smile to my face and though it is now nearly 10 years old it is still a head turner! Buy one today!
