Fantastic car, brilliant value and so much fun!

I bought my MX-5 2.0 Sport after owning a convertible BMW 330 M Sport. All I can say is, why didn't I change my car sooner!

I got rid of the BMW due to too many large repair bills, the car always worked but there was always a light on here or there and every trip to the BMW specialist seemed to be £900+.

Anyway, I digress... After deciding I needed a new motor I test drove many other cars; From Honda S2000's to Nissan 350z to a Fiat 500!

I don't know what took me so long to decide on the MX-5 as I have owned two already! (1999 1.8 Sport & 2001 1.8i).

Once I drove the 2.0 Sport, I was sold. I wanted a car that was exciting with good fuel economy and that was well built... easier said than done!

The 2.0 Sport feels so much faster and more refined than the older model, it also feels more substantial in a good way (more safe) and the boot is bigger.

I also get about 35-38mpg out of her (I drive about 60 miles a day) which is a great improvement on 23mpg from the Beemer!

But more importantly I have total peace of mind for the first time in years! I was given a year long Mazda warranty but that aside, after owning my other MX-5 for 5 years and doing nothing to it but servicing, tyres and fuel I am a big fan of how well they are built.

I love my MX-5, the new one handed hood opener is fantastic and I can also pull the hood up from inside the car (which I couldn't on the 2001 or 1999 models). Unbelievably, I also have more toys in my MX-5 than in my 3.0 M Sport BMW! ...Heated leather, BOSE 6 CD changer, Climate Control!

I have so much fun chucking her round corners and I simply wouldn't be without her!
