Mazda CX-5 (2012 - 2016)
Sport NAV AWD Auto Safety Pack
Unreliable
Bought this to replace a 90,000 mile Mazda 6 which was never the most reliable - needed a new short engine at 75,000 amongst numerous other niggles. Thought long and hard about giving Mazda another go and decided to after reading CX-5 reviews and loving it on a test drive.
I wish i hadn't.
I've only done 2,000 miles and the car is in the garage - has been for 48 hours. Pretty much every warning light came on the dashboard and the car went into limp mode a mile from my home, which i managed to reach. The RAC came out 2 hours later and through their computer found an error for the EGR Valve. The car also started and ran normally at this point and ran fine the next morning when i drove it 15 miles to the dealers.
So 48 hours later the car is still in the garage and they have worked a long way down a hit list off Mazda but have still not found any fault. They say it is not the EGR Valve and the computer was wrong.
If i could give zero for reliability i would.
On the plus side:
Drives great, its quick, comfy ride, roomy, great equipment, classy interior, was amazing in all the recent snow, is much more refined than the 2 stars ive seen it given elsewhere.
Currently getting around 35mpg mostly round Birmingham in jams, need to have it longer to get some better averages.
