Mazda 6 (2008 - 2012)
2.2 sport 185bhp
Great some of the time. The worst thing on the earth at others
Dealer service all until DPF failure
Every 10K my DPF light comes on, with the car using this to ask for a service. Really infuriating!!!
All not too bad for about 30K then the engine management died and refused to start because it would not recognise my key transponder. Corrected after about 3 weeks by main dealer under warranty with the help of Mazda UK.
Mazda dealer OK aside from continual poor answers to this DPF light coming on. Juat after 3 years and 60+K miles engine light came on. Back to dealer, cam chain had stretched!!. Looked around the forums and saw all the DPF issues, wasn't I happy .... grrrr. Got right on to Mazda UK. Eventually got a fair chunk of goodwill and got various components changed.
Oh BTW that 20 minutes at 2K + revs never never regens my DPF.
Car brakes could be a little stronger to aid that feeling you will stop when an emergency stop is required. Handling wise the car is a peach. Good fuel economy. Interior needed to have its materials upgraded and sacrifice some of the toys to pay for it.
Car developed a little surge when changing gear, comming off throttle would cause the revs to rise!!when the clutch was dipped. went away and never returned.
Dealer network in my experience very variable. Latest dealer is a dream.
Oil is very expensive and now I have moved to changing it every 6K.
Mazda UK do not seem to want to recognise their issue. Which is unfortunate because apart from the DPF issue the car is good. But a car that is not dependable or reliable is not good. Mazda UK customer service is quite good until you suggest they should do more than talk to the dealer and start to dicuss the DPF. Then they get defensive and avoid the answer in my experience.
