Lexus IS (2013 - 2020)
2.5 Advance 4dr
Great
Had this car for 6 years and keep thinking that I will replace it for something newer, then I test drive a likely replacement and think I'll stick with it for another year.
Great
Refinement. The CVT is great for comfort, no hesitation at junctions and smooth as anything. Tried some of the other premium brands automatics and you get that low speed hesitation when moving from a stop, not so with the Lexus. If you floor the accelerator then the revs rise to max until you get to desired speed but I would say most folk don't drive like Top Gear testers, if you are constantly flooring the accelerator this is not for you
Speed. Enough with great mid-range pull from 40-70.
Economy. Around 48 but long runs can be 65 mpg. Yes you can get around 80 mpg on very small trips one way but it will even itself up over time.
Reliability. The best.
Build. The best.
Size. Not too big and not too small for me, good boot and comfy for 4 adults.
Next time you are in a BMW or Audio feel the quality of the headliner and seat leather then compare to Lexus
Bad
Infotainment. Sat nav is really bad.
Service costs but they do keep it in top condition and never had a fault in 7 years.
Not available new. Shame but saloons and the IS are out of fashion
Average
It's fairly low.
No spare tyre but same as most cars now
