After trying A4's and 3 series I thought I would try the IS not a sporty but so much nicer in the cabin. I had owned the 200 from new for 3 Years as a company car and it was superb, the 250 looked like they had built on this. I find the 250 super comfy and quiet, it's ideally suited to long hauls and the gearing is so relaxed 35 mpg + at motorway crushing speeds is easily achieved, amazing for a heavy 2.5 petrol auto! The boot is deep but the rear passenger room seems less than on the 200? It's very easy to service for the competent home mechanic (me) and with no stupid cam belt or complicated turbo I'm expecting big miles without any expensive and unwelcome bills other than the usual consumables
