Follow up to first reveiw

After being unhappy with the Venga i took it back for the 3rd time. The smell had gone when i got it back but the garage said they couldnt find anything. One thing i did do was to tighten all of the screws around the fuel cap filler one was a bit loose. This may have solved it. The car has now done 11.5k and it is settling down ok. The eco dynamic stop start is now working as it should though very occaisionally the radio locks up and only resets when you turn the car off on. MPG is still only 55mpg and i think to get it to 65 you need to drive it off a cliff as there is no way my one has ever achieved any where near 60mpg. The accelaration problems are still apparent but less so now the engine is wearing in it seems to prefer Tesco fuel for some reason.
I guess the conclusion is that this is a brand new model and as such my one has displayed early teething trouble. It is very comfortable but the sluggishness of the diesel leads me to think that a 1.6-1.9 lump would be a better fit for this car and probably would be as economic as you wouldnt be driving it so hard. If you buy the diesel be warned that the bedding in time is long, and if you do less than 10k a year with the occasional motorway trip - buy the petrol instead.
