Kia Cee'd (2007 - 2010)
1.6 CRDi GS 5dr Hatchback
Cheap to buy, cheap to drive
This car won't give you any thrills on the road. But it is easy to drive, cheap to run and has got really nice warranty. The dealer is always willing to help. On the road it feels safe, and has got decent grip. The engine is pretty quiet, but needs to be worked hard if you want to overtake. However it has got good pulling power and is economical, about 0.4/10km. This car is cheap, and it feels pretty cheap inside, some rattle can be heard, and some of the plastics feels thin. Luggage space is average, but headroom and room for the feets is above average. The seats are ok, but lacks side support, however long distance travel won't result in back pain, because the driving position is great. Minus for rock hard armrest. The back seats can be folded, but will not result in flat floor. The back seat cushions can be flipped up as well.
Some road noise can be heard, gravel and water splashes are heard very good since there are no insulation under the car.
Since i bought the car, i've changed turbo, steering rack and glow plugs. KIA paied 50% of the turbo repair, since it was a common issue, even if the warranty was exceeded. Be aware that whining turbo is not okay, this is an indication of worn bearings, and will sooner or later result in total turbo failure, even engine damage.
